This song is called “Forgetting Sarah Somebody” because I was at this shitty little bar that I like, Bobby Baker’s, and I saw this cute girl from across the room. I was feeling decently bold that night, so I saw she was at the jukebox and decided to talk tunes with her for a bit. We talked, and she didn’t even know Third Eye Blind, but was open to hearing “Motorcycle Drive By”, so I knew she had potential. We talked about education—we were both teachers—and sipped whiskey (I did at least). It was nice. She liked my tune, I thought she was cute. Things were progressing well. Her name was Sarah. She was a brunette with glasses.
Sadly, though, while I was getting another drink with my friend, her friends whisked her away really quickly. I was a matter of seconds away from asking her out. I remember us locking eyes, but being separated by about six friends of hers (she was at some work party or something) and I couldn’t get to her. I lost my chance at a potential dream girl! So Sarah, if you’re reading this, it’s me, Spencer. Let’s have a drink sometime.
